Gene's Separated Shoulder

During our regular weekly practice April 19, 1995 Gene Crawford, the White Captain was playing Goalie, as he usually does. The second play of the game the ball came sailing down field and landed at his feet. Gene, being the closest player, nimbly picked up the ball and prepared to launch it back to where it had come from. Before he could, however, Jamie Bishop grabbed him and threw him to the ground. Gene broke his fall with his right shoulder and returned to the goal. The next play the ball came flying back, Gene raised his sticks and nearly passed out. And was hauled off to the hospital by Gina (the Ball Witch) where it was discovered that all three of the tendons which normally attach the ball and socket joint to the collar bone were all ripped in half.
