Leif Andersen

Leif Andersen was born in Anchorage, Alaska on 26 March 1975, six minutes before his twin brother, Soren, the grandiose dillusionary whom you can read about elsewhere on this page. He first learned about the sport while visiting Soren at UGA in the Spring of 95. While the description of his new found love was hardly inspiring - "I can't describe it Leif." (his roommate qualified that gap by saying that it was nothing more than a bunch of dudes running around beating each other with sticks, and that it hurt real bad) - his subsequent visit to a live practice was convincing enough. Leif and Soren seem to love the same things in life.

While in Athens Leif has been a devoted regular to toli and all that participation in this unique sport has to offer - camaraderie, sportsmanship, punishment, brutality, sheer exhilaration - and has done his best to return for further contributions while he's been living away. He's had the certain privilege of playing with and against the Choctaw in Athens and Moundville and with Conahatta (brief as it was) in their victory at the 98 World Championship.

Leif is an honors non-graduate of four different institutions including Grinnell College, Valdosta State University, the University of Georgia, and the University of Northumbria in Newcastle, England (where he may have lost honors status, but no longer gives a damn). While he failed to complete majors in international relations, history and geography, Leif did happily put his stamp on the UGA Honors Geology and Anthropology Field Program in the Summer of 97. Finally convinced that further attempts at higher education would be an utter waste of his time, Leif is now bumping about the world in an effort to discover something that might better occupy his time. Banana picking's great, but when's the next toli game?
