Soren Andersen

It is going on four years now since Soren first heard rumor of this mighty blood sport. Somewhere in the wilds of the Cascade Mountains, the erstwhile anthropology teacher John Burrows was lecturing on the natives of this land. Soren was among those present and noticed John's eyes wander off into some distant time. Tuning back to his present task, with a crazed and violent look playing about his face, Burrows proceeded to tell us of the Choctaw and the game he played with them. No rules, just men with sticks and a ball and they clobbered each other and there was blood. This sport is called Toli. Fear overtook Soren as he knew that one day his destiny was to play this game.

And so it has come to pass that Soren now plays Toli and has done so for three years. He has had occasion to play the Choctaw both in Conehatta and Moundville as well as in Athens, and these games have been some of the most memorable experiences in his time as a student at UGA. Soren also enjoys practices and attends as often as possible. Finally, Soren has a passion for the Toli stories of old. Tales of the Freedom Seven, victory in Moundville, and the trickery of Conehatta.

Being that Toli and life are not synonymous, Soren does carry on other pursuits. He is crafting an independent degree in Middle Eastern Studies here at the university and is absorbed in a love for the Arabic language. Like many other Flying Rats Soren has an interest in anthropology. His focus is more on Medieval Europe than the natives of the South East though, so there is a stitch of infidelity here. Travel to foreign lands works into all of these interests as well. Soren's most amazing accomplishment in life is cloning himself to various degrees.
